Saturn stations retrograde on June 4th lasting till October 23rd, 2022. Of course, all planets have a shadow period so a week after just like a week before any planets retrograde can still be felt but not as potent as when the planet officially stations retrograde. Saturn begins its retrograde in the sign of Aquarius @ 25 degrees (the degree of Aries) & ends in Aquarius @ 18 degrees, (the degree of Virgo). When looking at the degrees we can get a deeper understanding into the themes and challenges Saturn is focusing on with this next 5 months of its retrograde motion. Now the planet isn’t truly moving backwards as this is more so an optical illusion, however it is felt on earth by the collective. Saturn is father time, ruler of karma, deeds, time discipline, hard work, responsibilities & determination. A good way to see Saturn is to look at it as the taskmaster who keeps all planets as well as humanity in check! Saturn is slow and steady and loves rules but can feel limiting and restive to those who have less order, direction and like to live without constraints of responsibilities. This can potentially be a hard trying time on the signs with less consistency and be harder on multiple signs and hyper focused for cardinal signs. Fixed signs can see some challenges as this retrograde is in aqua a fixed signed and in ancient times aqua is ruled by Saturn. So those with personal planets in Aquarius can be asked to revise, reexamine and revamp specific areas of their life depending on where aqua falls in their chart. With the start of this retrograde in an Aries degree we can say this energy’s themes are about identity the self, and how you live your day-to-day life (Virgo), such as routines, work, habits and how you service humanity self and others. Also focused in on how your energy shows up for the collective (Aquarius) and if your bringing tangible wisdom to humanity or if your energy is limiting, restrictive or negative to those around you. Since Saturn deals with wisdom and maturation we are being called to look at humanity with a realistic outlook and find ways to be progressive, create freedom but within the realms of a structured capacity so that we are not causing others to suffer karmic experiences due to our deeds and actions.
